Your Role
The Agribusiness Food and Forestry department is growing and looking for an enthusiastic Associate in the ECA MENA team. The position is in the ECA MENA team, comprising 9 investment professionals (including this vacancy) and supported by a team of environmental, social, insurance, legal, and compliance specialists.
Responsibilities
Monitoring
- Preparation of credit reviews, including market and financial analysis
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant people in the client. Support clients by responding to requests for information.
- Drafting of disbursement memos and change requests.
- Client monitoring visits when needed.
- Provide input to the team's business plan.
- Participates in internal project teams where needed.
Provide support in originating and structuring new deals:
- Preparation of investment proposals, undertaking analysis, and discussions with internal staff & clients as appropriate.
- Analysis of financial data, including ratios, budgets, etc.
- Excel financial modeling to prepare cash flow projections.
- Planning and execution of due diligence visits.
- Legal contracting
- Administrative tasks regarding file completion (compliance and reporting)
- Market research relevant to the Agri sector.
- Client visits when requested.

- Gross yearly salary of between EUR 60K – 70K (including holiday allowance and 13th month), depending on seniority, years of experience and background.

Your Team
The Agribusiness, Food & Forestry department (AFF) is looking for an Associate working for the ECA MENA team. The team focuses on the origination, execution, and management of debt investments in the agribusiness sector in the region covering Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa. AFF works with companies along the value chain, including primary producers, processors, traders, and logistical services providers. The main objective is to invest in private sector companies in the agribusiness value chain to produce and distribute food, work with (smallholder) suppliers, and stimulate environmentally friendly technologies and practices.
The Associate will participate in different deal teams for the execution of transactions and support portfolio management activities in both regions. He or she will report to the Manager ECA MENA. We are seeking a professional combining corporate/investment banking experience with a passion for impact investments in the agribusiness sector. The Associate is proactive, flexible, customer-focused and delivers high quality output.
Your Background
- Master's degree – preferably in finance or business administration.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in corporate banking or development finance.
- Knowledge of and experience in debt financing in emerging markets.
- Proficiency in Turkish or Arabic is a plus.
