Your Role
The Fund Solutions team within the Private Equity department is looking for an Analyst. The Analyst is a core member of the team and contributes to achieving the Private Equity department's objectives. The Fund Solutions team is responsible for finding liquidity solutions for investments in funds and direct investments. The team is primarily responsible for portfolio management while also selectively supporting the execution of portfolio interventions, including portfolio sales (‘secondaries’), M&A sell-side activity and portfolio-level interventions. Working alongside an Investment or Portfolio Officer, the Analyst manages investee relationships and actively pursues value creation opportunities within the portfolio. As part of the broader Private Equity department, the Analyst is also expected to contribute to cross-organisational initiatives and projects.
- Managing a portfolio of investments together with the (Senior) Investment Officers and Portfolio Officers, which consists of:
o Preparing investment reviews and fair value assessments to drive proactive portfolio management;
o Processing disbursements, capital calls and change requests;
o Tracking the performance of existing investments by analysing key financial and operational metrics and formulating recommendations for portfolio adjustments as needed;
o Contributing to the preparation of required legal documentation in cooperation with the Legal department;
o Monitoring macroeconomic developments, market trends, and relevant news;
o Gathering and maintaining current data from relevant financial databases, ensuring thorough and complete documentation;
o Actively participating in shareholder, board, and advisory committee meetings, typically coordinated or led by (Senior) Investment Officers or Portfolio Officers;
o Maintaining strong relationships with investees by developing a thorough understanding of their business, closely monitoring their development trajectory, assessing follow-on investment opportunities, and continuously identifying areas of value creation for FMO — including with respect to Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance matters. - Supporting the exploration and execution of a range of liquidity solutions for existing investments, including the exit from investments up to and including the collection of funds.
- Contributing to the implementation of the Fund Solutions team’s strategy across the broader organization (including project- or process-related activities).
- Working on sector analyses, market mappings and strategy documents.

Within the Private Equity department, the Fund Solutions team focuses on securing liquidity from investments. This diverse team (6 nationalities) has a passion for creative problem solving and for investing while creating development impact. The team is supported by dedicated Environmental & Social specialists.
Your Background
- Master’s degree in finance, economics, or a similar field.
- One to two years' relevant working experience.
- Experience in the financial services sector is essential.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Solid financial modelling skills (Excel).
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong planning, organisational, coordination and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to adapt to continuously changing circumstances (i.e. investment performance, financing requirements, investor consortia), short timelines, and the ability to manage several assignments at the same time.
